In 1907, Piet VanderSloot came to the United States from the Netherlands and founded a 200-acre ranch in Hedgesville, Montana. His son, Peter Francis (known as Frank), established his own ranch in northern Idaho.

In 1991, Frank Sr.'s son Frank, along with his wife Belinda, founded Riverbend Ranch with a bold vision to build the best Black Angus cattle herd in the United States. Starting with humble beginnings in Southeast Idaho, Frank set out to personally and individually hand-select the best cattle from across the country—investing millions of dollars and countless hours into what would become one of the nation's premier seedstock herds.

We do not advertise Riverbend Ranch cattle “grass-finished” or “grain-finished.” Neither are an accurate way to describe our finishing ration. Both methods are too extreme. At Riverbend Ranch, we give our cattle a nutritious and balanced finishing ration, which we call a “nutritionally balanced ration.”

We control the entire process from start to finish, including breeding, the development of the animal every day of its life, raising the feed, and the harvesting and processing of the beef. Riverbend Ranch also partners with family ranchers throughout the western United States that use our genetics to raise quality-beef for American families.

At Riverbend Ranch, we take pride in delivering premium beef directly from our ranch to your table. Because our products are perishable, they cannot be restocked or resold, and therefore we are unable to accept returns. However, your satisfaction is very important to us, and we will gladly work with you to resolve any issues with your order.
